Bad Blogger

I created this blog with every intention of actually using it. The last five months have raced by.
Here's what the Lowry's have been up to...

1) Finished a few more projects around the house
-added a door going down to the basement
- took the lime green carpet off the stairs
- put in some landscaping around the house

2) We celebrated our 2 year wedding anniversary: October 18, 2008 :)
- I wake up every morning thanking God for Chris. He (God) truly works in magical ways. There is not a day that goes by where we don't say, " If people could only see/hear us right now, I wonder what they'd think?" and then burst out laughing. We except one another for who we are and that's what makes our marriage so special.

3) Work
- Chris continues to amaze his employers, clients and myself daily. His dedication to his work is amazing. He is very skilled at what he does.
- I have a brand new bunch of first graders this year. Lots of diversity, but each wonderful in their own way. I feel lucky to be able to wake up everyday excited to go to work.:) The kiddos are constantly making me laugh.

4) Knitting
- No, I'm not joking. I recently took up knitting. A group of my co-workers have a knitting group where they get together and eat, drink, knit, and b**ch. The group is called Stitch and B**ch. :) I love getting together with these ladies. My first project is a scarf and I hope to finish it before Christmas.

5) Friends and Family
- On the weekends we enjoy spending time with family and friends. We've been enjoy going out to eat, listening to bands, playing board games, and just hanging out with the ones we love. Speaking of the ones we love... Chris and I are going to be an aunt/uncle again. Angie, Jay and Kate are expecting a bundle of joy at the end of March. We are so thrilled for them. I have a feeling March will be here before we know it.:)

This weekend is our annual ugly sweater party with the Gustavus crew. It's always a good time. Hopefully I'll have some fun pictures to post soon.

I'll try to be a better blogger.:)

School's Out Forever...

Well not really, but I am finished with my Masters!

I started the masters program in January 2009 and wrapped it up this past week. So I now have my Master's in Reading. It was a great program and I learned a lot of beneficial information I can use with my students, but I'm so happy to finally have my life back. :)

Welcome to "The Lowry's...seasoned with love" blog. :)

I had originally created this blog so I could send my graduate professor some videos (too large to send in an email) for one of my classes. After some convincing from my older and wiser sister (she was a life saver and helped me put the videos on a DVD instead) I have decided to keep the blog and continue to update it.

Now I thought to myself...Emily, what are you going to blog about? You don't have any children or pets. Then in hit me...from September-June I have 25 children (first grade students) who love to tell stories, pick their noses, make up jokes, give hugs, and explain in detail their parents' bad habits. I can't wait to share my experiences with all of you.
